A little while back, the very lovely Tess Challis and Dr. Mary Clifton told me about their company called Get Waisted. I try not to talk about weight loss or diet plans on this blog, but I made an exception here, because their program is so awesome (and healthy!). It’s so much more than a diet…It’s really a lifestyle approach to healthy eating and optimal weight loss. Kind of like a modern-day Weight Watchers, but with a plant-based, whole-food approach. I was so excited to check out their program, which is amazing in so many ways!
First off, Mary Clifton is a medical doctor, and Tess is a healthy chef, so between them they bring years of experience to the table, including sound medical advice and scrumptious recipes that just happen to be healthy. They also have an online program, so you can do the program from anywhere, as well as weekly meetings held across the country. And, best of all, you don’t have to track the food you eat. Get Waisted uses a color-coded system that gives you the flexibility to eat what you really want, while still losing weight and enjoying ever increasing health benefits!
Their program is about long-term health, definite results, and vitality. It’s about finally making healthy eating and weight loss joyful. It’s about turning your life around and never feeling bad about your body or your diet again. This is something that I can get behind. For years I spent way too much time and energy obsessing over diet plans and trying to loose weight in unhealthy ways, until I finally decided that this was not a healthy or happy way to live. That’s what is so awesome about this program. Get Waisted is about feeling good and being healthy, not about feeling bad about yourself.
The recipes are also delicious, and are based on the recipes in Tess’s cookbooks. I have been reading my way through their newest book (which they co-wrote together) aptly titled “Get Waisted, 100 Addictively Delicious Plant-Based Entrees,” as well as one of Tess’s other books titled “Radiance 4 Life.” Both books are filled with easy and delicious recipes, with super-foods and delicious flavors that we all love. Recipes like Thai Red Curry Noodles, Sesame Miso Rice, Ten Minute Pasta with Artichokes, Savory Soul Bowl, Fresh Summer Rolls, Chicky Burgers, Samosa Wrap with Cilantro Chutney and so much more! There are even a few luscious dessert recipes. The online program includes even more recipes.
